Tekken 3 is my fav, but Tekken 2 has left an impact on me from the soundtrack, graphics, the dark atmosphere and the 90s setting.
:ohhh: I thought this was gonna be about the polygonal graphics of Tekken 1-3 but it’s about the costume design which I always thought was good but not so much detail to cuts. I had no idea they were going for real world parallels or that people in the fashion world had similar fits.

Always thought Lee, and Baek’s vest game in TEKKEN 2 was the hardest sht. Want some of them joints in real life. Kazuya purple suit :wow:

Lee's gear in Tekken 2 is fire I want the purple sleeveless half zip shirt and the the vest.

The second vid I posted he talks about the graphics on Tekken 1

On this one he covers the graphics and other stuff on TK2 TK3 TT and T4. One thing I like the he mentions is that the team in Tekken were always experimental with their game iterations.

iight breh I checked it out. :wow: So much game and underlying sht I never knew about. I love documentary style stuff like this where it makes it seem like the fate of the world depends on the success of the project.

Had no idea how much work went into TEKKEN 2 and they was experimenting with Mocap. I’m trying to get into that space myself developing 3D models and mocaping. Inspirational.:wow:

Idk how in the world TEKKEN 2 became the butt of all graphics jokes in recent years when it was an absolute technical marvel.

I mean you see the Avi.

Would rep by i repped already.

Sounds like a breh on the channel and I fukk with the content. Subd:wow:

Right I don't know where that shyt came from but lately I've been hearing folk shyt on the 32-bit era games...Its like shytting on someone for being old which is dumb. Though I will say during 96 in terms of graphics virtua fighter 2 wins, but Tekken 2 comes 2 just edging fighting vipers. Yeah I think the uploader is a young breh.

Tekken 2, in terms of cast of characters and story and general atmosphere, is still trying to be mimicked today in Tekken 7.

Tekken 5 was really a Tekken 2 reunion, if you think about it. Armor King, Wang, a 2nd Kazama that fights like Jun, Bruce, Ganryu, Baek, Kazuya's Purple costume....Tekken 2 was the franchise's creative peak in so many ways.

I agree with this 100% :wow:

I think there was something to the time where the technology was still new and passion was equal to financial gains. Them being able to get a second crack at it when no one knew just how crazy it could perform on the hardware or in the market.:wow:

We just have so many expectations now and those expectations outpace our innovation :mjcry:

All I want is for that feeling to be captured again :sadcam:

A lot of developers creative peaks happened in the PS1 era, where hardware was limited. The OG Tekken developers would have taken the 3D fighting genre into levels unseen if they had Ps2 or above hardware at that time period.

By the time the PS2 era arrived, pwople were focused majority on graphics and not much gameplay. Tekken 5 on the PS2 was legit the perfect merger of the franchise's creative output and hardware that could have (finally) executed it.

That’s what I’m saying. That era was so special but since the industry is only going up I don’t see it changing. Granted technically feats of AI and physics are harder to accomplish, there’s too high an emphasis on graphics alone as a market trend.

The industry needs a refresh to make way for new innovations in gameplay.

Even in TEKKEN I do both enjoy and dislike how they have some of the original animations for characters that have always been around but when the graphic become increasingly complex, without the penchant for stylization, it looks wild janky at times.

I mean, a legit Tekken 2 remake would smash the buildings, with an enhanced story mode.

Even Roger from T2 has his wife/son in T5! Even the joke characters from the T2 era still have a massive following!
