Tell me why Lebron to the Pels won't work.

My Pops Forever RIP
I'm a bit surprised a lot of the big name players don't wanna team up with AD since he has an argument as the legit #3 best basketball player in the world. Guess its because of our market and the fact we didn't effectively build an "up and coming" "on the rise" squad like Boston or Philly did.
It's the market (and the cap situation) but it's more that teams probably feel it's easier to recruit AD than it is for AD to recruit other people. A lot of guys are in that situation

Davis
Antetokounmpo
Walker
Jokic
Towns
Lillard has crept into this situation as well
Mitchell one day will be lumped into this

Bron korver and Tristan for
Jrue, Hill, Moore, Ajinca, diallo, frank Jackson, and like two first and one second round pick

Pelicans keep cousins, rondo, and Davis and add korver and Thompson plus lebron

Team gets swept by warriors round two

That’s the best case scenario I could see if he went
Plus the Cavs would have no reason to ever make a trade like that unless they are getting back assets and jrue holiday at 100 million isn’t worth it and he’s he only salary besides niko who could even get them close

They would need Jrue's defense anyways

Bron wouldn't go West unless he could have CP3, KD, and AD on the same squad. Maybe if he could go to Houston.

CAP SPACE.

Even if Lebron opts in to his contract, Do you guys really think Dan Gilbert will help facilitate a Lebron sign and trade so Bron go to a team of his choice and form a super team? We talkin about Dan Gillbert :russ::gucci:
I'm sure he'd rather Bron just opt out and get nothing in return. Well knowing Gilbert he would.

The contracts they'd have to move are too horrid for anyone to want, possibly? Couldn't be arsed to look at their cap situation

New Orleans has ~$20 million in expiring salary across multiple contracts this year that multiple tanking teams would be happy to take off their hands for next to nothing for future cap relief. Included in this expiring salary is Mirotic, who multiple playoff contenders would actually give the Pels minor assets in return for considering he is . Their only poison pill contract is Solomon Hill, who is on the books for over $7 million less annually than Ryan Anderson for the same amount of time, who people seem convinced will be effortlessly moved if Lebron goes to Houston because "Durr Morrey a wizurd????" They also own Cousins bird rights from trading for him and can go over the cap to resign him. And all of that is moot anyway because the Pelicans GM and owner have both affirmed last month they will gladly "go for it" and start paying the luxury/repeater tax if they are ever able to add a piece that makes them a true title contender. I'd assume Lebron James fits that bill as well as any player on the earth.

If you're Lebron going on 34 years old, who would you rather spend your last years of top level play trying to beat the Warriors with? James harden who shot 38% from the field and 20% from 3 in the last 5 games of his series where he choked a 3-2 lead against them? Chris Paul going on 34 years old who's missed at least some time in the regular and postseason, often critical times in close playoff series, for the past 4-5 years? Or the top 3 MVP/DPOY candidate 25 year old who's averaged 30/10+ against the Warriors in the regular season and post season since he turned 21 years old?

I highly doubt LeBron will opt in if he wants to leave Cleveland.

He's not going to any team in the Western Conference

A team can be trash in the East for months, and still be a top 2/4 seed. Lebron could rest 10 or so games a year to extend his career in Philly

in the West, there's no margin of error.

If he went to Houston he could rest and they'd still win 60 games with Harden and the 3 point shooting.
