naw, i'm not one of those old heads who can't appreciate a certain lane or time of music. if it's good or great then it's just that. but if it sucks, it sucks.

just because he's "made some of the most honest music of his generation" don't make or mean it's automatically good or great. one can make "honest music" and it can still be a hot pile of shyt

drake's music sucks. brother's voice horrible, his rappin' is wack and his singin' is horrible. he's the definition of overrated but he's got an image and it sells and it works. plus he got a lot of money invested in him. but he's a far better actor than he is rapper and singer

i'll give you example of this new generation who's makin' great "party music", meek mill, yg, schoolboy q, and kendrick lamar

I didn't say it was. I said maybe. You act as if you saying his music sucks makes it true. MAYBE you just don't enjoy quality music

I wanna see how folks my age and a little younger receive Take Care when we 25-30.

Im 27 and Take Cares been one of my fav albums for a minute now...I didnt even like Drake for a while, growin up in the 90s where music was made that contradicted Drakes style. But being older now, Id rather not here all the violence and trash talk all the time. And girls aint tryna hear that either, i finally have girls complimenting my music taste now. Sh*ts crazy, that never used to happen

10 years from now when he's fallen off everyone who hates him now will be talking about him with reverence like they do with Ja Rule, MC Hammer, etc..and all the artists that most "real hip hop heads" hated back in the day but love now. Nostalgia is something else.

And only So Far Gone was highly acclaimed, his three solo albums have favorable reviews but they're not looked at as great albums let a lone classics. Drake is more known for his ability to make great/popular singles and make good albums that aren't timeless or really memorable but good for what they are, music you can play in your car and have a nice easy listen and some club bangers.

Critically acclaimed by who? One of his main criticisms is that his albums sound too similar.

And his singing needs to go. He's a solid if not good rapper and has shown glimpses of that but he wants to be a bootleg Al B. Sure.

3 platinum+ albums as well as a gold EP
More impressively all 3 of his albums have placed in the top 10 best selling albums of the year they were released for all genres. Only other rapper to pull this off 3 or more times is eminem

Tons of hits, countless features, and really has been the dominant rap figure 2010-now, as well as the flagship artist of the most dominant rap group 2008-present

Arguably one of the best hook writers/performers in rap

Him being on top has had a significant impact on the direction of hiphop

Ten years from now will music listeners view him as a legend?

I don't think so, none of his music is timeless. He has that mindset like Khaled to make "hits" and not meaningful timeless music. I played NWTS once and got all I needed, I only even liked 2 or 3 songs. Also what type of legend? He damn sure won't be a rap legend with all his singing
