Atow truck driver allegedly stole a woman’s car from the driveway while she and her husband were inside their East Nashville home.
The tow truck driver pulled in the driveway of the couple’s house at Edwards Avenue Thursday afternoon and took the Honda Accord that belongs to the wife, Valencia Harding, local news station WMSV reported.
“It’s a 2005,” Harding said of her vehicle. “Who would want an old car?”
Harding called the police and asked her neighbors if they had witnessed the incident. She said that neighbors told her about the tow truck backing into her yard.
“It’s mind-boggling to think someone would actually come onto your property and steal your car,” Harding said.
She continued: “We’ve never had anything stolen from us, let alone an automobile, and for a tow truck to just randomly pick our house to steal a car, just baffles us.”
No details were revealed about whether Harding retrieved her car or if any arrests were made. Details about the suspected thief’s description are also unknown.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said that similar incidents have happened before, with people reporting their cars stolen, especially by tow trucks.
