People keep taking about a Trump third term. He’s burning everything down including his own party. More people talk about his third term over who’s got next after Trump is done. Troll online will say shyt like Vance/Rubio or Vance/Gabbard or some shyt… they’re just throwing names out there. People are losing hope out here and that’s the last thing you want no matter what party you’re in. Anybody who would support these people after going through what they’re going through are straight looney tunes status.

If a challenge to the 22nd ammendment makes it all the way to the supreme court, they'll accept the challenge and they'll allow the process of undoing that ammendment. He'll fabricate or exaggerate a national emergency to end elections. This man is desperate for power and would rather die in the Whitehouse than go back to being a civilian.

He's feeling invincible after surviving an assasination attempt, impeachments that went nowhere, attempts at removing him from the ballot, no evidence of collusion with Russia even after being investigated by a "never trump" republican like Robert Mueller and a centrist like merrick garland. He knows the american public will do nothing but post about how happy or outraged they are online, maybe throw a few tantrums in the form of protests and then it's business as usual as they accept their new reality, or just use social media to escape and delude themselves.

Something similar happened in Hungary, and the a$$hole in charge in that country has been invited to multiple republican fundraisers and events. They admire him and want to emulate his path to authoritarian power. Republicans know their policies are only popular with white people, c00ns, and millionaires/billionaires. They understand that in fair elections and easier voting access they would get destroyed and they know if their opposition was actually a serious party (instead of corporate operatives and narcisstic attention whores who have a repulsive mix of savior complex and cowardice) they would get absolutely bodied in elections.

The pitch that current democrats have is:
Vote for us or else this monster will destroy America. It's a call to action that works on the people who would be victims of fascism. Black people, disabled people, LGBT etc. All went out and voted to protect what little rights they have from being eroded away.

The problem is, white men have no rights to worry about losing. White people have an intuitive understanding that this country was started by and for them. They see themselves represented in all levels of power. You can't threaten them with anything so they either stay home on election day or vote for whomever will protect the advantages white supremacy gives them. Democrats CAN appeal to white people by offering universal programs that they can benefit from, but which will mostly benefit people who've been historical discriminated against (example: a jobs program would disproportionately benefit black people because our unemployment rate is much higher than white people. A minimum wage increase would build black wealth since we are also overrepresented in minimum wage and part time jobs) but doing that would put them at odds with the demands of their donors and the oligarch class that they too want to be part of.

So the best they can do is stoke panic while at the same time refusing to listen to what their base is telling them would actually help people and win them elections+ what has historically worked in times like this(bold, substantial policy that actually impacts the lives of most people insteaf of some means tested bullshyt that works on like 5% of people).

I doubt Trump runs for a third term. He's just too old to do the dictatorship he wants to do. If he was even a decade younger I would be a lot more nervous about it, but he'll be 83 in 2028.
