Of course the NCAA is gonna cover that, that shouldn't even be in doubt. I never had to pay a dime for any injuries, surgery, etc. and I don't think anyone else does either.

The bigger question will be future qualify of life, earnings, whatever. But if that stuff is a concern then he won't be worrying about NCAA eligibility anymore.

I honestly don't know where it comes from - my trainer just said "give me the bills" and they disappeared. Not a cent ever came out of my own pocket. Not for doctor visits, surgery, rehab, nothing. I'm certain because I didn't have money at all at the time and even a little bit would have killed me, but the surgery cost a fortune plus I did rehab for months and I'm sure it didn't touch my pocketbook at all.

I assume each university has their own policy that covers it.

Thoughts and prayers to the young man and his family/friends. I had family members suffer something similar after car accidents. One died and the other became partially disabled. I say that to say I really really hope he can come back and live a life as close to the one prior to this.
