Boxers don't drill elbow strikes at all. much less headbutts and crotch punches lol.

But even then, there are many types of MMA fighters. is this MMA fighter a Boxer, Wrestler, Sambist, Jiu Jitsu Guy, Kickboxer, Muay Thai, Judoka etc

It depends on the combatants end of the day :yeshrug:.

Shiii Gervonta vs Suga Sean in open rules would be an interesting fight :ohhh:

No it wouldnt sean gone tear his legs up in 30 seconds. Tank too small to get around leg kicks. Hed have to completely sell out immediately n thats not his style at all

Don’t really need to drill, boxers know how to cheat and fight “dirty” (when confined by their rules).

No rules in a streetfight, I’m going after breaking everything

Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing to me are the GOAT fighting styles whether in the gym or in a street fight. The ultimate advantage

Neither of those are boxing centric tactics. Jon Jones is one of the dirtiest fighters ever and is the MMA goat at the same time

If anything, a MMA fighter is more dangerous in those type of situations where all the gloves are off and there are no rules because that's literally closer to what they train then what a boxer does. Esp with MMA having heavy Gracie Jiu Jitsu elements which takes into account biting, nut shots etc...

But your sport is your sport :yeshrug: Train what you like. I do kickboxing, jiu jitsu and MMA since I was 15 cus it's fun, not for self defense lmao

Boxers headbutt and crotch punch all the time. They don't train for it, but headbutts, Crotch punches, nor 90% of elbow strikes are actual skilled moves. An elbow strike is a move most boxers are trained to stay out of the reach of. Heck, UFC fighters don't throw strikes to the neck or kick heads when a guy in on the ground but they all know the moves. A kick to the head requires no grappling skills and a far worse fate than getting chocked out or put in an arm bar.

Yes, if you are a boxer and match up against a Muay Thai fighter or Kick Boxer, you're screwed. That said, the same grappling argument Terrance Crawford used technically applied to Kick boxers and Muay Thai fighters too.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, we didn't see many fights go to the ground. It's definitely the cultural influence of the Gracies, that it occurs so often today.

I think nikkas need to watch more boxing because there are guys who routinely foul and headbutt, elbow, slam, etc.. all the time. You got boxers who whole style is based around headbutting or fouling nikkas.

shyt, Lennox Lewis once made the comment that he thinks Holyfield actually trains and practices the art of headbutting due to the way the man kept headbutting throughout the 24 rds they fought.

for the UK nikkas, Josh Warrington is another dude who legit headbutts guys in damn near every fight since his 1st loss.

Please don't assume that boxers don't routinely deal with dirty fighting and fouls, a lot of nikkas have no qualms about getting the upper hand in a boxing ring, just imagine a street fight.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Damn near every nikka I know who was nice at boxing was bustin nikkas ass in street fights. Fights more often than not start with hands first. Being on the ground is some shyt that nikkas always should try to avoid in a street fight.

Headbutting, ball punching, cutting elbows, whatever.

Win or lose you will feel it later

I know what you're talking about, you're right headbutts are done in boxing, it's basically just wrestling concepts that work for inside fighting that guys use for dirty shyt. Yeah they can definitely take it to the next level in a street fight for landing head butts, similar with elbow blocks and elbow strikes

But If a boxer is close enough to punch me in the nuts, Im already choking his goof ass out though :dead: .

Pankration and wrestling are older then boxing by thousands of years:ufdup:.

There's a reason most warrior cultures in history, whether Zulu, Samurai, Romans, Greeks, Medieval Knights, Mongol/Steppe Warriors, native tribes and all prioritised wrestling/grappling above all other hand to hand combat styles

I'd still take boxing in most situations over wrestling. Most people can't take more than 1 or 2 well placed punches. I'm assuming he's talking about pro fighting where they learn to dodge or eat punches.

boxing is actually trash for street fights. At least compared to everything else...having any type of training will help you, but if someone else knows wrestling kickboxing or some other form of martial arts, they have a huge advantage.

with that said, if you can box the other person has no training in any form of fighting,it's still a huge advantage

Blasphemy
