Just realized I never gave my thoughts on
'Terrifier 3' on these boards. Spoilers ahead. There was a lot I liked but I have to get the bad out of the way first. I felt the first 20 minutes or so the way it was edited was jarring. Opening Christmas sequence into flashback and back into present day and none of the scenes really hit for me. I thought we were in trouble. I did laugh like hell when Chris Jericho got his face ripped apart Lmao.
The movie really picks up once Sienna makes her first appearance. I didn't note this before but she's sexy as hell to me and through her emotional scenes and physicality when she's fighting Art she's legit carrying these movies at times. She's a great talent.
The Christmas element added a cool dynamic to this one as well. The backdrop offered a wild contrast to the violent nature of what's happening on screen. The bar scene, mall scene and shower scenes were all the type of shyt I love about what Leone is doing with this franchise. The tension/comedy/gore is all there, he killed it on the practical effects again.
I'm not sure about the final act. It was good but it felt like a rehash of the second film. I can see where we're headed but I did not love the choice of killing Jonathan off screen. It works for a reveal but the character is too important for the actual lore and mystery behind Art. I feel 'Terrifier 2' is easily the best of the series to this point. I guess we will see how this plays out. My boxset from Umbrella is dope as fukk. Got the whole set in 4K with a booklet and it's numbered.
