Let's go back 6 years before Chad was in the league and Jimmy Smith did it:

There's a bunch of WR's in that era hitting 1000 consistently like Donald Driver, Reggie Wayne, Rod Smith, etc. It was not impossible even if the league is more pass happy today.
Lastly you don't get paid based on what you might have done in another era. You get paid based on your production in the current market. They throw more and run less so WR's now command more money.
you trying to be slick Booch. I see you.Stop embarrassing yourself. You really think he accounts for 60%+ of their receiving yards?.
Have less yards in 2023 than Pickens, an old Thielen, and an old Hopkins and think that player is "elite"..
Edit: I didn't even factor in someone like Pickens that had more receiving yards with terrible QB play.
You're embarrassing yourself here. He's a very good WR. He is far from elite.
I'm not going back and forth. I'll be back at the end of the season when the Commanders miss the playoffs, Daniels takes a step back, Terry has another "good" season..
30 like the Grim Reaper for receiversThat contract looks terrible
told yalllol overpaid
I think sometimes as a franchise you kinda just have to pay guys who've earned it, if only to not get a rep as a shytty organization. Especially Washington with all the shyt they've had the last couple decadesWashington's GM has been pretty good at the draft and signing guys, so I'm still surprised he put himself in a position to be held hostage like this. Good player but that contract is god awful. Most of the WR ones seem fine to me, but this and the Aiyuk ones just baffle me.
at least with Aiyuk he was 26 in his prime and it really went down to the wire...obviously they couldnt predict the horrific injuryWashington's GM has been pretty good at the draft and signing guys, so I'm still surprised he put himself in a position to be held hostage like this.
