Tetsuo & Youth is too cryptic for me

There are people in this thread saying this, but in general I think The Coli fukks with the album. And I've yet to see someone straight up call the album bad. Like I've been saying, the only thing people calling Lupe out for on the album is for going too hard over their heads. Lupe knew this would be the reaction he was gonna get too though, lol

nikkas didn't even care about the album (hence the sales). Till stans started beatin us over the head with this is a 10/10 album, GOAT rap, and if you don't like it your just too dumb to understand it shyt.

Forreal tho people are the biggest haters. No matter what a nikka does they find SOMETHIN to hate on. This guy single handedly revived his hiphop career with this project with barely any hype and you nikkas are always coming up with lame excuses like this shyt too complicated for my incompetent ass brain. Can we just not appreciate the fact that Lupe bounced back after creating two back to back mediocre/sub par projects. How many artists have came back from such slumps. Even if it isn't your thing you can't tell me with a straight face that this album is shyt. FOH.

thank you for being honest. You dont want to think that hard. thats it, thats all. thats all the lupe is too lyrical folks. He's not. he's just lyrical enough for those that want to think when they listen to music. and think deeply. he's a poet. not just an everyday rapper. it is what is. some people dont want to listen to a poet. they would rather here a guy thats straight forward with everything. thats your choice. me personally. i love this album. i'll call it a classic right now cause it is(classic for this era that is).

and this Lupe are all on the same level. the difference between lupe's album and these are his lyrics. you have to really think to decipher some of this stuff. and some stuff you will never decipher without asking him "so what did you mean by this" that old KRS1 interview someone posted not long ago was going thru his old songs. there were things he said about his lyrics that i never knew. So even though it SEEMED straight forward he had a different meaning. but i didnt cry about it. I loved that about KRS1 and other rappers like that as well. Lupe doesnt need to change a thing. there are fans for everyone. if everyone dumbed their lyrics down, everything would sound like a southern strip club anthem....WAIT....

dude, that's not what I'm saying. I like Lupe and his first two albums. I like complicated music. He just goes way overboard with this album. Don't let the fact that I don't understand it be an indictment on my preference in music and/or my listening/reasoning skills.

Breh, I appreciate the effort he put in on this album. I'm glad he's redeemed himself. With that said, I just haven't gotten into the album yet. I've played it a bunch of times now, and I still don't understand it. I'm not hating on Lupe as a lyricist at all; I'm just stating that I'm struggling to find meaning in his songs, and that is detracting from my ability to appreciate the music.

Nah, what happened was, the fans and listeners of the album gravitated to the discussion of the album in the Official Thread and some of the posters on here can't stand how active the thread has been.

The majority of the threads made outside of that thread about the album are troll threads or retarded comparison threads solely made to get the Lupe haters in there to put the album down.


So the comment, "Till stans started beatin us over the head with this is a 10/10 album" is complete bullshyt. Nobody was on here making threads saying Tetsuo & Youth is the GOAT album, there wasn't any of that. There was one thread made to shyt on J. Cole's album, but generally speaking? I've see WAY worse reactionary threads made for an album release by an artist's stans than this album has.

I guess beating you over the head with praise for the album means, "I lurked the T&Y thread and peeped how highly people think about the album"
