point blank. I’ve been here since 06. I’ve had Mexican food in every major Texas city from multiple places in each town.(except Austin). I’ve even had it in some the smaller towns. In almost 20 years I don’t even need a full hand to count the amount of places I’ve been to in Texas with good Mexican food. It’s literally only been THREE. One is in Dallas, one is in houston the other was in El Paso(Anthony tx to be exact)

California Mexican food and Chicago Mexican food is wayyyyy better not even close.

ANYTHING past San Antonio is trash…that’s where you fukked up. You also need to look for the hole in the wall joints. The big chains won’t do it. I also judge every Mexican joint by the quality of their carne guisada. If that dish is trash than I know the rest can’t be too good.
