Never been to Texas but it’s hard to believe this to be a fact.

Also I’ve heard Colorado got some dope Mexican food too.

Also it depends on where in Mexico these ppl are from. NYC Mexico food is sort of d different then Mexican food in Cali, Arizona, Colorado etc.

A Colorado transplant who looks white here in nyc told me she doesn’t like the NY Mexican based food and that the Mexicans here come from a different part of Mexico.
New York Mexicans are mostly from Puebla and to a lesser extent, Oaxaca and Guerrero. The food from those states are pretty meh, imo.

Never been to Cali where they sposed to have Mexican cuisine on our level but I'm still calling 🧢. You prolly been to all the wrong spots. Best food is at the lil la Michoacán taquerías that be ducked off in hood/kinda hood areas or the taco trucks in them same vicinities.

And i feel like I'm more experienced on this topic because i use the Spanish language keyboard and also know just a bit of Spanish pero yo aprendo:troll:

Unrelated sorta but bro when you know even a tad bit of the language and pronunciation, them latinas be looking at you like food :wow:

Houston btw.

When I went to Dallas I had good Mexican food in Oak Cliff, at a spot called El Catrin. It was authentic and I had red pozole.

Oaxaca is probably the most highly regarded part of Mexico for food. But the thing about New York is that Mexican food is kinda new so while there's a lot of it, it's mostly tacos/tortas/tostadas etc. and not as many sit down kind of meals like you find in Texas and California. Puebla and Oaxaca cuisine isn't really showcased here yet outside of the street food.

I meant to say Guerrero and Puebla actually. But yeah, New York has too many basic antojitos and not enough actual meals
