Think about it, just connect the dots. Texas is charging electric car owners because they are not paying gas which translates into fuel tax. Yet, companies like Amazon is known for paying very little to no taxes and overwhelmingly use roads to conduct their business. In other words, people are being charged for not contributing to gas taxes while companies like Amazon isn't being punished for paying little to no taxes that help upkeep roads.

A road tax is already in the tax you have to pay to the dmv when you register the car or renew the registration … that gas tax is a hustle to double tax you…

At first glance it sucks but EVs are not paying gas tax and they use the same roads. It's also not that big of deal to pay $200 yearly as it's still cheaper paying no gas. It's literally $16 a month. If you drive an EV then u already have the money to pay the $16 so it shouldnt be a deal breaker.

Can't they apply that tax to the electric pump stations the cars use? If not, why not?
