It's definitely off base, especially since the only reason this weather turned into a "disaster" in Texas is due to government incompetence and greed.

Mind you there was a 100 car accident on Fort worth Texas a week before this snow storm, and that still wasn't enough to get these dummies to do anything to prepare

I don't think he is saying the guy isn't a piece of shyt, but that this just shows you can't rely on the government for anything when a disaster happens, but the problem is people can barely survive day to day in this country

The Truth
Its a good thing im a casual prepper. Day 3 of no power, all the stores shut down. I got canned food n 2 cases of ciroc. Gonna drink this disaster out.
Canned goods, bottled water, and a place to start a fire (grill, campfire, firepit, etc)..

I used to have a solar powered and hand powered radio that also charged phones (can also use car sparingly).

Portable generator would’ve been cool too

Majority of black women are :picard: or bedwenching, with no downtown of any sort.

You're speaking in hyperbole

Even going by your logic. You want...

- A place with perfect job opportunities
- A place with 24/7 entertainment
- A place with perfect dating opportunities
- A place with no poor areas
- A place with affordable housing and cost of living

You realize no city in history has ever had those attributes all at once right?

Like I said, ya'll really want to live in Disneyland :russ::russ::russ:

Yeah that's poor insulation to be honest.

I gotta be real about Florida I hate this place but they building are insulated pretty well down south.

Even when it get's to the 40's which is rare down here it's pretty warm inside.

Those Texas building are usually cheap in price so I see why the insulation is so bad usually. They aren't built for that.

If I was a Texan I would consider leaving for another state. If global warming continues that whole state is down.

I just seen breh on CNN. The freezing on the ceiling fan and light fixtures are due to the pipes bursting in the apartment complex.

My wife works in the government and they've been receiving calls of pipes bursting from all over the city.

The Set
That's true. But y'all don't have backup generators in case something happen?

I think the whole point I'm saying is, disasters can happen, you have to have a survival plan in place. You can't depend on someone else for your survival or you gone be assed out.

The message was not off base, the timing was.
We pay taxes and premium prices for government and utilities to work around the clock to ensure that we have have services. If they want to monopolize the market where we are limited to certain providers that my shyt better be on when I flip a switch. Not everyone has the extra income or capabilities to have a plan B....gtfoh!

Those places existed less than 20 years ago. :yeshrug:

You just want a dystopia and everyone to suffer.

To all my Texas Coli fam, be well. My home girl has family around that area and says there’s not water for her friends family. With that her friends kids are potty training at the moment. This piece of shyt fake ass mayor needs to be rid of, and I’m not talking only resignation.

I get that this is unprecedented weather, but the utilities have to do some preparation. Seems like the day of, was when they told people about the "rolling blackouts" or after people lights started going out. If you know that your natural gas lines will be in danger of freezing, well get your "keep the gas lines warm" crew together. There should not be whole cities without power.

During Sandy in NY,specifically LI, whole neighborhoods were without power for 3 weeks. We've had hurricanes before, although not very frequent, and certainly Nor'easters. After all was said and done, while Sandy was bad, they found that the electric company was negligent in maintaining a sound infrastructure. Poles came down easily because they were rotted from the inside. Substations and train tracks just chillin' on the coastline unprotected. Preventable shyt.

People actually dying out there freezing to death cause they infrastructure not built for that shyt and they (the govt) had PLENTY of time to prepare....:francis: people mock us up here but at least we got tons of salt, plows and a decent power grid capable of handling consumption...Whether its electric heating or gas powered...:francis:

In this case it is actually NOT the government. ERCOT is a privately owned company. The only dealings they have with Texas legislation is lying to them about the winterazation they said they did but didn't and generator checks they said they did but didn't...

Abbot cripple ass can't even get Bill Magness on the phone:mjlol:
