According to an advance copy of the book obtained by AL.com, Longhorn boosters were willing to offer a signing bonus worth up to $15 million and a $100 million-plus salary package.Texas was dead serious about trying to money-whip Saban," Finebaum and Wojchiechowski write. "Depending on whom you talk to -- Bama big hitters or Texas big hitters -- the Longhorns were prepared to give Saban somewhere between a $12 and $15 million signing bonus and a salary package worth $100 million (plus performances)."

But I can't fukking play NCAA 15 :beli:

To be fair though, I doubt the boosters are against paying players at all. These dudes just want to win football games. They'd fukking RELISH an open market.

Could you fukking imagine what recruiting pitches would look like if money wasn't taboo?

Young brehs would be catching pension plans and trusts out of highschool :wow:

The ONLY reason this didn't happen is because Mack refused to step down and Patterson didn't want to make waves firing him when he was just stepping into the AD's position. Had Macked stepped down after the Baylor game as he was supposed to, Saban would be head coach of the University of Texas today.

Basically. Mack told them to make another Hov, but I be damned if you'll hire another Hov.

Bra, I was listening to Finebaum on the way home today. And dude was talking with some Texas reporter who was saying it was the president who did not want Saban. Talking about how he did not want a guy who was bigger then texas. Was that true?
