So we should be seeing more places controlled by democrats approving reperations heavy this upcoming year. Republicans dont control every state do they?

Im pretty sure they called it reperations. But people were upset because they told them how they had to spend the money,which they felt was insulting. My point is democrats have control in other places. And they can dish out reperations however they would like. Republicans dont have control in every state right?


And I get the idea of being insulted about being told how to spend the money. But personally I would only believe in reperations where people are only allowed to spend the money on certain things. The money should not be used for your own personal pleasures

This is to appease his base. No senator is going to vote for a bill cutting federal spending in their state.

Republican states spent a decade refusing billions in free Obamacare fed money, and only took it years later after voters forced them to with ballot measures. Florida and other republican states also refused to use covid relief money for actual relief, and instead used it to pay for tax cuts. Reparations are never happening but if they did, it's pretty obvious that red states would refuse to hand the money out to black people. Which would mean the federal government would have to get creative about doling it out. Maybe via tax returns for instance.

It's a housing program dressed up as reparations. I don't have a problem with it but it's misleading to called it reparations when we have been fighting for payment from slavery in the US.
