I'm trying to figure out the thought process here:

Her new film, God's Country, has been adapted from a short story by James Lee Burke - but has swapped the lead character from an older white man into a black woman.

It centres on a grieving professor (Newton) who confronts two white hunters she catches on her property.

Talking about the film, Newton said though the role allowed her to heal as a black woman, she hesitated taking it because she did not think she was "dark-skinned" enough for the role.

"My internalised prejudice was stopping me from feeling like I could play this role when it's precisely that prejudice that I've received," she said.

Before columbiana she was the go to safe negro woman to pair with a cac male lead when Hollywood wanted to be edgy. Got her big break in a slavery role.....Nice words though and I do like her so yea yea OK.

EDIT: AS in before the movie Columbiana came out she was the safe negro woman to pair with a cac Zoe Saldana then took that role

The kirk to the fields
She’s a disgrace to light brown people worldwide.

“Blackness” comes in all shades.

As a lightskin nikka I would never even entertain the thought. I’d rather clown a mofo than coddle them over this dumb ass shyt.

Person should never have to apologize for existing.

I understand why she did it due to all these insecure internet trolls. But at the end of the day, it’s a bad look on them (not her) and it exposes their bullying tactics in full public glare.

I don’t know when people are going to understand that life ain’t fair. And if you have a problem with it, take your fight to the system that created it - not individuals.

These people are making black people the perpetual laughing stock of all races. And very soon it’s going to be short and fat black people bullying everyone on the internet for taking their women/men and denying them opportunities.

I don't know why y'all are blaming darkskin people for this.

If you read the quote, it sounds more like it's her own insecurity.

The same way you guys think darkskin people's insecurity are not caused by light skin people, hers isn't caused by dark skin people.

Who said anything about blaming dark skin people?

I just don’t believe anyone should apologize for who they are.

That’s the ultimate self hate.

You're projecting here. What part of my eight word post said any of the things you just wrote?
