This wouldn't have even been a problem if the labels on the east and west coast would have done right by us from jump. I have no ill will towards west coast artists because they taught the south the independent/out the trunk game when NY didn't wanna put us on so we just created our own. Artist like E-40 and Too Short still get love from the south because they embraced us. There's only been a handful of east coast artist that get respect in the south and they not complainin nan bit.....

Their run as the dominant region has been done for a while. It's just that the bar for being relevant or "buzzing" has been lowered so much that some random dude having a random hit or even somewhat popular song means the dude is a relevant rapper. So when Yung Transmission puts out some trash single that gets some airtime and a bunch of nikkas talk about him on Twitter he's the next big thing. The south is full of a bunch of Yung Transmissions so some nikkas still think they have shyt on lock. When in reality every region has it's own relevant, young, exciting movements going on musically and the most relevant rappers in the game are from every region.

I'd say the south is still dictating the pulse of the entire genre...by far the dominate force in it...a good bulk of the major names and the movements running the game and the middle and lower tier acts...and it goes further than just the artists actually from the south....the influence on acts from other regions like ASAP and French in NYC and the entire Drill scene in Chicago, it's undeniable...the hottest new producer of the moment is ATL product Mike Will...got everybody from Rihanna (not rap, but when she ran to him for her "urban" look) to SchoolBoy Q going to him for beats...
