Bron probably threw that series cause he wasn't gonna be finals mvp. He didn't wanna win his 1st in the Pipper role.

Then the next year Wade falls back and calls Lebron the alpha on the team and they win chips.

It is more than likely true, but no one wants to admit it

He also lost 4. dr. j won 1 and lost 4.

Their legacy for most of us ( I'm :old:... :heh:) who didn't see them in their heyday is pretty much intact and great yet you believe you're going to carry that years from now.

:heh:

Ok....

And no one is saying Dr J is better than Jordan, let alone Kobe
:yeshrug:

Bron is a great player we aren't saying he isn't

I feel what you saying but why you acting like Phil was a HOF coach when he got to CHI? He was just a regular coach with prior experience as a player. MJ made Phil great just as much if not more than Phil made MJ great.

Phil proved his greatness after multiple titles with the bulls during their first run. But let's not sit here and act like he was Mike Brown as a coach. Let MJ have a sorry coach and he does not win 6 titles. Let MJ not have Phil and he does not hire tex winter to install the triangle and his ass does not win 6 rings....believe that. It takes a great player and a great coach and system to win 6 rings.

It was more than that. Dallas ran a brilliant defensive strategy with him:

1) Kept switching looks with Marion/Stevenson/Terry/Kidd
2) Doubled frequently to get the ball out of his hands
3) Played a confusing zone with rim protector Chandler backing them up

Everything about the Dallas strategy was meant to keep Lebron out of the paint, keep him confused and guessing, and force other players on the team to make plays. If he was going to do anything, it would have to be by shooting over the defense or by passing from up top. Lebron got flustered and played poorly, but it was the Dallas defensive strategy that forced him into it - something Boston and Chicago had been unable to do.

It wasn't really that different strategically than what San Antonio had done in 2007, it was just a bit more complex and looked different because Lebron had other guys he thought could compensate in 2011. It also wasn't much different than what Boston tried in 2012 or San Antonio tried in 2013. It's just that in 2012 Lebron defeated the strategy by banging away with brilliant inside post play, and in 2013 he defeated it with great outside shooting. Lebron's not going to get as flustered now as he did then, but it's still the best way to guard him if you have the personnel (multiple guys who can D him, a good rim protector, and ability to play the zone).

Well said and let's not forget that the heat played 3 on 5 when they were on offense. The Mavs did not have to guard Anthony or Bibby. Hell Dirk guarded Joel the whole series. He actually had to play no defense and conserve his energy on offense.

What your saying would be valid if Phil didn't go on to win even more rings without Jordan.

Every coach starts somewhere but Phil turned good teams into championship teams and is one of , if not THE GOAT COACH.

Dude the whole league was against them dudes. You had announcers, owners, players and media openly rooting against them. Owners saying they were gonna have a lockout because of them. Owners working with an owner they hated all because they did not want the heat to be successful.

Then 4 years later lebron leaves the heat to go to cleveland and the whole league and owners are celebrating and telling Lebron good decision. Man you can't make this shyt up if you tried to.

At least once a day, the dumbest thing I'll hear all day will be said somewhere on The Coli.

"Hey Lebron, you're up 2 games to 1 on Dallas right now. You're about to win your first ring when the knock your whole career has been that you don't have a ring yet. You're averaging 20-7-6 so far, so there's a chance that you won't win MVP (depending on what happens the next 2-4 games), but if you don't your best friend will win it. If you lose, you'll get all the blame and the hate will never stop."

"Well then, my most likely response shall be to purposely lose."

It was infuriating as a fan. How does someone go back there after all the disrespect? The entire league and its media machine was openly rooting for us to fail. Owners were trying to cancel a season, which would do irreparable harm to it just to keep us from winning a title. At that point just embrace the hate and force them to respect you.

Yeah Dallas had a game plan of slow James down no matter what the cost. That zone slowed us down as you said because with bibby and Anthony there we were playing 3 on 5 with James as our only 3 point shooter in the starting lineup and 4 on 5 on defense due to bibby. Add in how bad spo coached and we should have lost in 5. We blew a 14 point 4th quarter lead in game 3 as well.
