when benji saw the gun he was still woofin..he let his anger get the best of'em

when you see a gun you suppose to calm down and move around

i just feel that parts of the shooter story was exaggerated bro.. just off living in the chi keon i know you than been around a nikka with a banger....how he feel? some be low key with it and some be on some king of the world aka bishop type shyt, only part i feel was true was the push or the bump....everything else i call :duck:

Again folks, think about how ridiculous this story is....benji was the 669th person killed THAT YEAR...just that year....but it wasn't until HE died that chicago decided to send gunshot victims to trauma centers???

Seriously folks, let that sink in for a second.

Excellent Doc.

For some reason the killer story sounds credible, he took his second chance and made something out of it. Sad shyt when you spend 19 years in prison and come out in your mid 30's, spent teenage years and 20s in prison over senseless shyt.

My personal take on the documentary....

I FULLY believe the killer's side of the story. He was 15 years old and a short nikka in the heart of violent ass Chicago. After his dad died, he probably had fear in his heart each day in Chicago especially since he was never really bout that life growing up. Now mind you, the kid was going to the school to handle some goon who stole money from his sister and surprisingly, he didn't bust his gun on the goon and the altercation ended peacefully. This shows dude has a heart and was happy he didn't have to bust his gun but still handed the problem the best way he could. His main mistake was not going home and still hanging around the area like a bum with his homeboy

Now all you bums siding with Benji, hear me out. Dude was an excellent basketball player but had you paid more attention to the film, Dude was a pure simp to that high school crush of his. Everyone was commenting like as if to say "he was the next big thing but he was sweating this hoe, why??" and anytime she dissed him in public, he'd spaz out. YAll remember Benji pushed a teacher over that hoe in the hallway and got suspended. So if he would push a teacher without thinking (which most nikkas would never do), Im quite sure that nikka would push a 5'6' bum outside of a corner store and then talk greasy because he knew he was the basketball GAWD around town but this time, he bumped into the wrong nikka and got caught slippin.

Now, I dont condone this senseless violent shyt at all but since this is a film portraying how a young future got cut short so it wouldnt go into full detail how some of these young basketball prospects think their invincible and do whatever the fukk they want once they get some media shine. I mean, you heard Benji's brother say "I wish benji wouldn't have acted like me on that day" meaning the brother was leading that nikka wrong on a morality side on handing confrontations. Thats why its important families teach kids right from wrong at an early age because the decisions you make in life truly can affect in your future espcially in the hood.

Both guys were wrong, just one guy was more wrong than the other by killing dude so this is a simple case of "keep your emotions in check especially in dem skreets!"

P.S. very shocked no one mentioned how Wood Harris a.k.a "Avon Barksdale" was narrating this documentary but his character in "The Wire" had numerous young males doing wild violent shyt and and If i remember right, I think he put the hit out to shoot and kill the promising young "Wallace" character

yeah man, i aint the smartest guy in the world but sometimes you truly got to analyze these films. The main theme they want to portray to kids is that violence is bad and look how it took the life of a promising young athlete but we all know how cocky these star basketball players in high school get so imagine how cocky and arrogant the #1 high school player in the nation was especially when he would have a gang of older cats fighting his battles anytime he was in confrontations

Dude was on a high like no other and thought no matter how violent Chicago was, he was some GOD and no gang member would touch him. Remember, dude laughed when that riot broke out during one of his games. He thought he was untouchable

He had an attitude problem and needed proper guidance on that instead of listening to his older brother who had a cocaine addiction

like someone said, where was his dad?

He had an attitude problem and needed proper guidance on that instead of listening to his older brother who had a cocaine addiction

His dad was around, but cats that are stars act like that regardless.

Dude let the hood pass get to his head IMO.

yeah man, only a smart "think outside the box" nikka could put the puzzle pieces together. Remember when the film said Benji called his brother because he knew he was going to have a beef with some gang members after school, then 4 cars full of old heads came to his aid. He clearly let that go to his head at a young age.

Homie should have learned from that incident and never put himself into any situation that could jeopardize his family's life or his future NBA career.

How was he supposed to do that???

His brother was a free baser

The shyt that's glossed over in the story yet totally overblown is the gang violence

Its totally overblown because they try to use it as a reason that Moore shot benji (it would've happened in any hood, real shyt it is now 4'15 on a friday....some nikka somewhere just got into a fight at a bus stop while walking their shorty home)

but its totally glossed over because we know for a fact benji had to be down with some set...we know for a fact his brother was selling...his brother used that lame ass "I had a pistol for protection" shyt...no nikka, you had a pistol because you needed a safe way of getting your rocks

so the basketball team gets jumped in a game and nobody died in the following weeks cause of that??? we really supposed to believe that :manny:

nikkas have died for less, so if Benji had 4 cars roll up off of mere speculation, I'm sure somebody caught some initiation scars for that brawl

This is so ironic man.

I'll never forget hearing about some 14 year old getting stabbed to death by some lil rat-rat niqqas around my way with a screw driver at my old junior high school after his team beat the shyt out of my school at a baskeball game. (I graduated over a decade earlier) It was the first thing that came to my mind hearing about Benji getting jumped at that game.

Black.women.have the lowest suicide rates in the country.

They're strong as fukk and are the mules of the earth.

They are quite resilient.

That's why I'm so hard on the younger ones. If they realized the cloth they were cut from, I believe they would have a lot more pride and we would see less ratchetness
