just watched it.

not to talk down on the dead, but are we really supposed to feel sorry for him because he played ball?

its always sad when someone dies, but the only person i truly feel sorry for(aside from wilson's family, of course) is the dude that got hit with 40 years just for being on the scene.

thats if the shooter's accounts are true. but i dont see what he has to gain by lying at this point, so i believe him.

he played in the usbl. i think he played for the atlantic city seagulls circa '97.

i keep forgetting kells isnt much younger than my folks.

It's more about feeling empathy for him and his family/friends b/c Benji was clearly going to be a star. It's that dream and promise of success unfulfilled. He was the most talented player in the country, good lookin' kid (no homo) w/ that Million Dollar Magic Johnson smile.

At the very least he plays 4 years in college, gets his degree and becomes an ESPN commentator.

...I've watched this a few times since it's aired (recorded it) and it always leaves me very unsettled. The girl singing while his casket was at Simeon had me feeling like I lost him as a friend.

yea, i already said i feel sorry for his fam and i dont want to see anybody dead. plus i hate stories of people who almost made it. and may i add:comeon:, as a basketball fanatic, this gives me that incomplete feeling.

but im seeing people in here acting like dude was innocent and cursing billy moore. thats corny chit to me.

if billy moore's story is true(and it most likely is), then i cant really feel sorry for dude like that. i mean, im sorry that he died but he brought that on himself.

so you really believe even after duded flashed the banger Ben still was punking him then lunged at him

that whole story was bullshyt breh

actually, that story pales in comparison to stuff that ive seen & heard.

"innocent people that never hurt nobody" get shot because of chit like this all the time.

add to the fact that benji most likely had a huge ego and was twice the size of dude. hell yea, i believe that story.

and yea, i prefer to pog it out, but i can understand dude's psyche, if its tru that he was already fired up, lookin for niccas.

I do believe Billy's story, but the fact that he left his house with a gun (that he wasn't licensed to carry) for ANY reason is what makes him deserve that sentence. Worst that would've happened if he hadn't been strapped is that he got his ass whipped. Instead, a 17 year old kid ended up dead. We all make mistakes but I don't feel sorry for this guy (Billy) at all, duke got a gun over $10?! :mindblown:

or maybe he grabbed a gun because the people he was looking for were strapped.

i dont feel sorry for billy either, for the record. i do sympathize for both him & benji tho.

Just watched this earlier. This shyt reminded me of Cochise in the movie Coolie High, both cats was from Chicago and was about to make hoop their way outta the slums before 2 gang members took their life for nothing. In Benji's case he would've been better off by just backing down but arguing with his chic already had him on 1. He shoulda just let the broad be and stayed in class. This movie would make the hardest nikka wanna shed a tear tho. Espn been waking ppl up with these 30 for 30's.

nice comparison but cochise wasnt innocent and it sounds like benji wasnt either.

cochise got killed cuz camp lo thought he snitched. and even then, they didnt mean to kill him.

and he wouldve had the info needed to clear the whole snitchin chit up if he wasnt busy knockin off his man's ex.

Cochise was innocent. Dude was fukking a bish his mans didn't care about. His homie had a badder light skin thang that he really cared about. Sure it was fukked up but the nikka was innocent.

:comeon:

we rewriting scripts now?

So true...we have to stop passing down these lame ass "rules of the streets." How about"don't go anywhere you need a gun","call the police" after all, they are pretty much a hired gun. Let them shoot it out with the people robbing you.

:childplease:

if billy moore wouldve went to the cops because of that chit over his cousin, his life would become a walking nightmare.

:whoa: That's how it went down... Preach had been moved on to the light skinned chick. If anything he was tight because that broad had been fronting on him at the start of the movie, but then Cochise came along later, and she gave up the draws with ease.

she was preach's ex and cochise knew she was off limits. thats why he reacted the way he did when preach walked in.

cochise died in vein.:beli:

I was still surprised when I saw him react that way... Hadn't he just smashed the light skinned broad before that?

either shorty meant something to preach or cochise got at her too soon.

either way, cochise knew he was wrong. it was written all on his face.

some chicks are just off-limits to the homies.

Preach was just mad she wouldn't let him smash. Actually she was barely letting Preach kiss on her and didn't want him feeling on her. Then his boy comes and get the arse and he prolly didn't have to put the work in to get it. But the way that bish looked they should've been running a train on her in the 1st place. That's why the OG whose house they was fukking in was confused, he was like you tripping over this bish :damn: I could see if it was over light bright.

Nah, I don't think she meant anything to him. By that point, he had found love with the light skinned chick. But I do smell you on that Cochise knew he was foul cause either way, it looks like "this broad wouldn't even let me cop a feel, and then my man comes along, and he smashing her out" The chicks was kinda the downfall of Cochise. Remember, one of the nikkas that beat him down was the nikka who he beat up at the house party after he had seen him dancing with his broad.

i will say this again, if your not from chicago or la you don't know what we go thru as far as this gang shyt, people keep saying they believe the shooter, IMO it doesn't matter the size of the person, nikkas with a gun AND part of a gang do not believe there are in fear, they believe that they are the shyt and are untouchable PERIOD...... i use to bang gd when i was young and i feel that ANY little thing would have lead to fam getting shot, not a big ass push like the shooter said....my little cousin was killed over a five dollar bet so i know how a nikka feels if they feel like they are treated like a hoe....period

Guy, did you watch the doc?

Those guys were wannabes, not real gangstas, that's why they freaked out the way they did when Ben rolled up on them.

They were considered "good kids" by most people

just watched it.

Yes, I forgot this is the internet, there's always got to be some a$$hole who reminds people that they're more callous than everybody else.

Guy, a dude who wasn't a gangbanger, thug, hoodlum, etc. . . got murdered because he was fighting with his baby mama and accidentally bumped the wrong guy and got into an argument.

That meant that the brother who had a full scholarship to college would never go to college or reach the potential of making millions of dollars and rescuing his family from a violent neighborhood.

If that aint tragic, I don't know what the fukk is.
