the commercials looked WAYYY over the top compared to the New Edition mini series (which i was a fan of) but this shyt looked like any other BET movie...

i need yall to let me know about this one.

Felt rushed in the beginning. It was like a quick shot of Bobby as a kid and then he solo working with teddy Riley. It does make sense because the New edition story covers all the parts in between. I felt like halfway in the movie hit a groove and wasn’t jumping from place to place. By the end I was like


Definitely worth a watch. What would be really dope is if they spliced the timelines between this movie and the new edition movie and made it a mega movie shyt. I think that would be ill.

Bobby wasn't portrayed like he dabbled in it once in a while, he was portrayed like he went on month binges with the shyt, stopped really working on his music, lost him home because of it, got his sister husband shot up because he was high, fired his brother because of it, etc. I don't know how you watched it and came away feeling like Bobby was made a saint, the man was getting it on with 3 thots while his mans was writing lyrics for Ghostbusters , showed his cheating and lying, the movie been very honest imo.

Maybe your just offended at Whitney Houston portrayal, but by all accounts from those around Whitney, no lies are being told here.

People literally clowned Whitney everyday for being a junkie.
