I aint gonna lie... DOTA and League of Legends have been having $1-3 million tournaments for the past 3 years or so.. but when I saw $10 million every person on the winning team walks away with $1 million before taxes

it is big for esports because the bigger this game gets, everything else comes along with it... They already got the sponsors (Monster, redbull, intel, etc) because the tournaments are so huge (sold out arena for 4 days in a row) and on twitch (they have a $6.99 sub button instead of $4.99 + advertisements). But if they get that ESPN money


edit: a lot of people dont understand that theirs been gaming houses/teams just like Soccer/Football/Baseball/Basketball for gaming.. where players get signed and traded away etc.. These guys wear jackets with a million sponsors on em, get paid hundreds of thousands a year (will be millions in the next year or two) and travel and live free.. Its BEEN like this but now with more national coverage. Competitive gaming in Europe/Asia is big as hell

They hardly ever stream on twitch but when they do they always get like 5-10,000 people watching them play even if its just a game or two shyts crazy cause they arent even streaming on a schedule like regular streamers

I go back and I'm watching an interview they do with a guy from team PPD
They talk about how they beat some favorite.. how he used to be a fanboy, and look at him now!!!

It sounds kinda cool right now, but if you see it. Its REALLY hard to watch
Everything is so fake, like you get the feeling off the break that this shyt..well, the PC nerds are not interesting enough to be interviewed

The competition just seems like a computerized I don't know.. pokemon or some shyt
Like, imagine a pokemon tournament. Then after every round they interview a real life Ash Catch'em
