PC gamers have known this for years already.

It's only going to get bigger and it's what Street Fighter V is trying to get into for the next 7-8 years. Street Fighter has been competitive for a while, but there is still a lot of work what can be done for it to compete at the highest level. A game like Street Fighter is extremely important because it is easy enough for casuals to pick up and master if they decide to put the time in.

Those RTS games like DOTA, Starcraft and the like are very complex once you get to the high level and turns many people away.

they might try to go the Killer Instinct route in the future if they ever rebound financially. Capcom is in such bad shape they could not possibly launch SF V as a free game.

I think it makes sense as clearly they got a lot of money from Sony.

Most of those competitions are played on PC anyway, so it made sense for them to release it on there. Fighters don't sell well and still be able to have it available to most gamers + a bonus from Sony is the most secure route they could have taken. The XBOX is the odd one out, but would have loved to see a version go out on there as well.

Some of these guys are insane and its fun to watch them pull off insane plays or insane rounds where it's like a 1vs4. Counterstrike is the most easily accessible to know whats going on. Rick Fox and Shaq have put money into CSGO teams. Rick Fox has a CSGO team called Echo Fox. Turning broadcasting just finalized a deal to start showing CSGO games as well.

I ain't hating on the skill at all or even saying all the people that are into it are wrong or some shyt like that. I get why people watch. I'll catch a speed run of Mario on youtube and give it a . I'm just saying by the time it becomes mainstream like the level of the big 3 (4 if you include hockey) I'm gonna be in the mountains on my fukk it steeze. I just don't have the urge to get into videos games on that level especially with where they're headed. (shooters/virtual reality/etc)
