That "Jimmy Butler missed shot to go to Finals" was all Marcus Smart's fault

Boston Celtics only have themselves to blame for not trading him 3-4 years ago. It's crazy that you can see a player absolutely ruining your team, and it's like you are the only person on earth who can see the train wreck and everyone thinks you're crazy :dead: :skip: :mjcry:. Because it seems like you are not rooting for your team when you are singling out a player. I know how @CantStop feels when he talks about Lebron

He does not fit with this team at all whatsoever, and majority of the reason why Celtics are not reaching their potential

Let's look at that famous Jimmy Butler missed jumper that almost sent the Heat to the Finals. But does anyone know how the Heat actually got a chance to win the game?

- Celtics are up by 9 with 2 min to go
- Celtics have the ball, Marcus Smart bricks and open jumper
- Celtics get the rebound and pass it again to Smart that bricks another open jumper
- Then Oladipo scores
- Next Celtics possession, Marcus Smart bricks another open jumper
- Then Kyle Lowry scores
- Then Strus makes a 3 pointer, lead down to 2
- Next Celtics possession, Marcus Smart drives the lane to throw up a horrible brick at the rim
- Which then leads to Jimmy Butler having a chance to tie the game but misses

I'm watching this in real time like

what-the-wtf.gif

The Heat's gameplan for the past 4 years is to have the same defensive strategy. Help off of Marcus Smart, Shrink the floor, and dare Smart to be the hero by bricking open shots. The first 2 games of these playoffs, this THE EXACT SAME GAMEPLAN, and no one sees it. This is also how they lost to the Warriors in the Finals.

It pains me watching Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White give the offense so much life with their playmaking, shooting, and being floor generals...only for them to be benched for this dude. His horrible playmaking, being turnover prone, and low offensive IQ is destroying the Celtics. Trade him in the offseason, please

You're still focusing on the wrong things. Without Smart the Celts aren't in the Eastern Conference Finals at all. He was the best Celtic in game 6 on the road vs. Philly. It took the rest of the team 46 minutes to wake up.

Smart was also the best Celtic in the first half of game 1 vs. the Heat. He was the "playmaking" guard that you're talking about. He had ten assists in the first half, he was dropping dimes. The Celtics were up by 9 at the half. It's his fault they gave up 45 points in the 3rd quarter? No.

You're focusing on a role player when Jaylen Brown has been a complete no show in this series. You're focusing on a role player when Horford has been terrible as well.

My nikka

One woat player can make you look like you hate your team

You should be directing that energy to Jaylen too

Jaylen was the best player in the Hawks series. He was decent against the Sixers. Been trash the first 2 games against the Heat

It's crazy how the criticism is that "Celtics play too much 1 on 1 basketball" then have Marcus Smart being the worst playmaker, and no one connects the two

This is a double edged sword because Marcus Smart is an elite defender at the position and he does other things when the ball is not going through the hoop. You can't take him off the floor without the taking the defense with him.
