Inspired by true events...not a Canonical account of each artist in NWA.
I loved it because most mainstream narratives about the artists in NWA being thugs and "what's wrong with Black America and rap music" was dispelled.
How?
In that movie, we actually saw some of the best interplay and emotion in the bonding and friendship of 4 Black men when they were on the cusp of adulthood. How the "American Dream" perverted their relationships to each other through greed and how after all of it, their bond still remained strong.
If for that alone, I'm happy that movie came out.
People, who aren't Black or aren't well versed in Urban culture, came out of that movie confused as fukk like, "I thought they'd be shooting at homies and fukking bytches and hoes all day!"
That movie had me coming out of it like, "Damn I'm happy
my crew is still intact and loyal to each other.
