Thats interesting...Welders are always in high demand tho.
As long as he saves money as back up a welder can never go broke.
They are basically the divas of the construction biz because of that high demand.

Not interested in working 72 hours a week.
Work smarter, not harder.
thank you for saying it first. people 40 hours is a normal work week, thats 8 hours a day at a job. 72 hours is 8 hours short of 80. thats basically a double work week in one week. or you're working darn near 16 hours a day.(14.4 to be exact. So...when do you have time to eat, sleep and just chill? there's only 24 hours in a day. if you sleep for 8 of them. that leaves 1.6 hours to chill, hang out and eat. sorry you cant do it all in 1.6 hours. lets not discuss running errands. Not interested in working 72 hours a week.

not 15 hours a day every single day for years. thats actually detrimental to your health, even in your youth. by the time he calls it quits his health could be so bad he wont even be able to enjoy his savings. it will be used up on healthcare. You got it backwards...He's in his early 20s and is probably on pace to have 100k saved by the time he is 28........Then he'll probably go back to school..
If the work is there and they're paying, you put in the hard work when you're young
and thats why i would never work those jobs either. but the difference is. if you pull those hours say for 1 or 2 years straight, you will move up and pull less hours but pull more money. and that trend will continue. more money less hours, more money less hours. but his job he will have to work like a dog the entire time to maintain that ridiculous salary. if he moves up sure he will get more base salary but that hourly wage which kicks OT in after 8hrs per day. he will no longer get paid OT. he will be on salary. which is why he would never move up by choice.Plenty of finance and consulting jobs require those types of hours, with lower salaries for recent college grads than this guy is pulling in
College is more of a trap nowadays for many people.
Yep. I make a bit less than this, but I only work about 25 hours a month, and from home.

Wait you mean to tell me your certified to melt metalIma certified structural welder and i make bank. its good for me coz these companies usually overlook my criminal record. and I'm not working no fukking 72 hours a week. if i did something like that it'd be temporary to stack some money.
what the fukk? And our gramps was coming home with that cough he could never get rid of. and his health started failing him once he hit 52. So all that money will be spent on medical bills. BELIEVE IT. thats something youngins dont think about because when you're real young you dont think about tomorrow like that. or if you do you darn sure aint thinking about next week when you get real old and what that means. so you figure, i'll kill my body today and it will bounce back. it seems as if it bounces back, but it also has residual affects that you cant see today but will surely see tomorrow in your 40's, 50's and 60's if you live that long. Whats the point in killing yourself stacking chips for when you retire so you can be happy and paid. when you are unhappy and always sick because how you never rested and never took time out for yourself to recuperate from a days work. doing a 16 hour shift for 2 weeks is doable. doing a 14 hour shift for a few months is doable for sure. if you own your own business 14 is easy. but at some point you need to stop woring about the doe and start worrying about your well being. dont get so caught up in stacking where you forget that you still have to be healthy in order to enjoy your chips.72 hours is a stretch....But 60-65 for 3-4 years is very doable.....Extremely doable as a matter of fact....People have just become lazy when it comes to labor jobs.......
You know how many Grandads were pulling 60 hours a week in the coal mines and plants for decades....
72 hours is a lot......but I can easily see him averaging 62 hours a week at that age
exactly. this is what i'm saying. NOW if he's bringing home that much cheese working 72 hours. he still doing well working only 8 to 10 per. and that should be the discussion. how do you bring home 50 to 70 without having student loans to pay off.Ima certified structural welder and i make bank. its good for me coz these companies usually overlook my criminal record. and I'm not working no fukking 72 hours a week. if i did something like that it'd be temporary to stack some money.
