2004 ALCS
Game 6
Score is 4-4
Top of the 12th inning
Tim Wakefield pitching.

Tony Clark leads off and strikes out.
Miguel Cairo reaches 1st base on a single and advances to 2B on the throw.

MAN ON 2ND BASE WITH 1 OUT AND A KNUCKLEBALL PITCHER ON THE MOUND!!!

Why the fuuuuuuck wouldn't you put in Lofton to either outright steal 3B or take it on a passed knuckleball? I'm still furious about that shyt til this day.
:mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

And yes, I know you don't make an out at 3B. But this is extra innings with a still very fast Kenny Lofton and a Knuckleball pitcher on the mound. What The Fuuuckk?? :mindblown:

....Derek Jeter and A-Rod fly out.
Inning over.

:martin:

But wait!
There's more!

Top of the 13th inning.

Gary Sheffield strikes out but reaches 1B on a passed ball by Wakefield.
Man on 1st!
Put in Lofton?
No.

Hideki Matsui up. Grounds into a force out (Sheffield out at 2B)

1 out, man on 1st.
Surely put in Lofton to steal, right? :ld:
No.

Bernie Williams up and flies out to RF.
2 outs.

Then while Double Play Machine Jorge Faqsada is batting, Wakefield throws a passed ball.
Matsui on 2B with 2 outs. This may be a reach, but surely Lofton runs better than Matsui. Why not consider Lofton to score on a shallow single? Nope.
Faqsada intentionally walked.

Man on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

Ruben Sierra up.
Tim Wakefield with ANOTHER PASSED BALL!
Matsui to 3rd, Faqsada to 2B.

Sierra strikes out.
:martin:

Sox win the game in the bottom of the 14th inning off Esteban fukking Loaiza.

fukk Joe Torre for life.
FOR LIFE!

So are we not going to talk about the Belcher tirade video? I remember the series, but I never saw that clip.

2003 and 2004 ALCS were up there but for true drama and nostalgia, 95 ALDS is GOAT.

I loved the 2003 ALCS just for the "Cowboy Up" fukkery vs. Legion of Doom type Yanks. AARON FU**ING BOONE!!!!!!!! When he bombed that HR it was straight:gladbron::pachaha::ooh::krs::deadrose::russ::wow: status.

2004 might've been the end of the golden era of Baseball.

Kenny Lofton would have won a World Series in 2004 if Joe Torre wasn't such a fukking scumbag idiot a$$hole and played Kenny Lofton more in the postseason
Kenny Lofton should've gotten a ring in 2012 :mjcry:

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
I was at that game 2, but I had actually left early, right before the bottom of the 15th. I had an early class the next day, and I was already tired from having worked and played ball before going to the game. Plus, I'm a Mets fan, so I wasn't invested in seeing the finish. I was standing on the 4 train platform when Leyritz hit the hr, and for a minute I was legit scared because the station was shaking like it was an earthquake. And for leaving the game early, I still wound up on the L train at Union square with my friends who stayed for the end.

Went to a Yankees/Tigers game in summer of ‘95 when I was visiting fam in NY...I remember hopping on the train with my cousins and remember the electricity in the ballpark and in the city overall...one of the best summers of my childhood
