Source Awards>> Bet Hip Hop awards

So unpredictable...so raw......so entertaining

But we can't have nice things.

All the shyt you like about those awards are why they don't continue. The awards are secondary which kinda defeats the point of having it.
Watching this is pissing me off why cant hip hop be this good today.

Because you're not interested in the music. They could all rap like garbage and it wouldn't matter as long as there were fights, sneak disses and fukkery galore.

I'm not intending to single you out, but the music isn't the biggest reason why heads look back on the Source Awards with nostalgia. The MTV VMA's were on less than 2 weeks ago. A Meek Mill /Drake run-in would have negated an otherwise shytty awards show for a lot of people on here. That became the appeal of those shows for a lot of people (put all the biggest rappers in one building and if they really didn't like each other, something was gonna happen), same with Soul Train Awards after a while

Andre 3000 wearing eyeliner and a headwrap, yet its Young Thug who's a hip hop abomination. :snoop:
Dre got the same pass Prince did, their weirdness came off as authentic and all the stories we hear of people who knew them are consistent with that

Thug is blatantly doing shyt just for shock value, it aint the same

damn i miss hip hop :mjcry:

-when nikkas dressed like real nikkas
-when big stars actually showed up (Dre, Snoop, Nas, Jay, No Limit, DMX, etc)
-when everyone wasnt friendly friendly with each other,
-when there was 0 attention whores, and Twitter beefs, and corny "rants" (kanye)
-the actual nominations and performances tho :wow:

:patrice:The game actually started getting watered down to me by this point

Not for me. Bad Boy as a unit performing at Source Awards or the whole Death Row team on that prison shyt performing together far exceeds anything I saw at the VMAs :manny:
