Only the Warriors and Blazers really have an excuse for not taking Drummond, everybody else gotta be feeling stupid right now.

Drummond could've put Charlotte on his back. MKG is cool but without a jumper he'll never be a star.

They'd have to give up on Biyombo first.

Zero offensive game, but defensively he'll wind up better than Drummond. Adding both of them would be overkill considering they don't have much at all at the wing spots.

In 28 minutes, 9 offensive rebounds :mindblown:

This game is proof positive that the Pistons do not want to make the playoffs and their goal is to stay competitive but not win themselves out of a lottery pick.

Yep. Scary to think what he could do with real minutes, but I like what the way he's being used now. We go ahead and get a decent wing with that draft pick and I'll really like how we're sitting heading into next year. And the staff has done a good job of not letting Drummond develop any real bad habits early. Offensively everything is pretty much in the paint. I know he liked to float out on the perimeter and dribble a lil bit in high school, but the Pistons was like "Nah,, we ain't even fooling around with that, you get yo big ass in that paint!"

Plus Drummond was the risky pick. MJ couldn't afford another risky pick. He needed a sure thing.

He has the potential to be better, he's taller, bigger & stronger than Dwight was at the same age. Has a much better feel for the game and if you watched him enough, he's a pretty good passer for someone that was called unskilled.

Dwight isn't some great measuring stick, his time with the Lakers is showing how grossly overrated he is without 4 shooters around him.

I'm not hating on the kid though. I don't watch Detroit so besides the highlights of him(all of which have him dunking) I don't got much to go off of. He could very well be though so I'll give you that.

I know your not the biggest fan of Dwight but you gotta give him a little bit of lee way this year. Comin off injury and playing next to the man who has historically missed the most shots in NBA history while also playing for the greatest conman in coaching history.

He's not just dunking, look at this -

NBA centers have 70-plus blocks, 40-plus steals. It's nice company: Joakim Noah (93,56), Marc Gasol (81,43), Andre Drummond (72,40)

He has literally played half as many total minutes as them on the season. He does things Dwight can't do, even before the back injury Dwight was never able to play passing lanes like Drummond, and as seen by his defense on Wade despite being 300lbs he's not a liability on switches. And he's actually a pretty good passer when he gets the chance to move the ball. The potential is there, how he utilizes it is really all it comes down to. If he gets a traditional post game the sky is the limit for him.

I don't give Dwight any leeway because he's supposed to be the best player in the league at his position. And while he's on a new team and new system, it's fairly obvious he's not as good playing with a true frontcourt player as he is with a stretch 4.
