Really, the only pitchers I really trust is Gio and to a lot lesser extent John Lannan.

Edwin Jackson - he pounds the strike zone but I just think too many of his balls are hittable.

Jordan Zimmermann, I believe he is a very good pitcher, but i also believe he is growing tired after a longer season than he's ever pitched before and then i hate that he is very prone to having the meltdown inning that costs dearly if the Nats aren't hitting well that day.

Detwiler is a hot-cold pitcher. Dont know what your going to get from him but he's been consistent this season., Trust him more than Zimm and Jackson the last month and a half..

Nats are done. The Cardinals are about to put this one away.

the offense being pedestrian didn't shock me, too strikeout-prone, it's the pitching that's been disappointing, even minus strasburg.

yeah, I read an SI article about strikeout-prone teams and the postseason. It had me like

that and the bats started to fall off in mid-september as well.

I was concerned about the bats, but Gio, Zimm, and today Edwin have stunk it up. Gio and Edwin surprised me the most, JZimm always struggles with the Cardinals

for most of the season, the Card's were in and out of the WC race. I thought the Pirates were gonna make it, but they struggled really bad down the stretch, and the Card's experience kicked in during the end.

Because anything can happen in the baseball playoffs..Usually the best team doesnt win it the team that plays the best for a month does..
