It's the best thing ever.
Especially if you have two monitors...or feel like pulling the laptop out while watching another game on TV....

I paid full price and have no regrets.
I paid the extra $20 for the minor league package to watch some prospects too....but those broadcasts are very hit and miss. Thankfully the Reno Aces joints are OK so I've been able to watch a few of Trevor Bauer's starts...but overall they're pretty iffy.

And yeah, I C/S the MLB.TV purchase as well. I've been singing it's praises for a few years now. If you're a Baseball fan, it's well worth the money. I'm a Football fan first and foremost, but Sunday Ticket to me is way too overpriced. When you compare the value of the 2, it's not even close.
I was happy as hell when they linked it to the At Bat app for iOS/Android. In past years, you had to pay for the app for each platform. Now, they finally let you download the app for free and log in with your MLB.TV info. Long overdue.
