Beltran: 19 HR, 51 RBI, .307/.347/.533

McCutchen: 9 HR, 46 RBI, .303/.375/.471

Gomez: 13 HR, 41 RBI, .312/.353/.559

Case can be made for Gomez considering his speed, but Beltran is more than deserving to start.

Not that fans care about such things, but 2 of those 3 have significant defensive value while the other..........doesn't.

Also, Shin Soo Choo has a .418 OBP (26 points higher than the next NL OF) and wasn't invited at all.

How about Beltran batting .466 with RISP, and Gomez .247?

And Beltran isn't horrible on defense, and just yesterday I saw him make a sliding catch in no man's land after covering a ton of ground. He's not a liability, so ...

Also, Shin Soo Choo has little to no defensive value.
