The Oakland Athletics are continuing their pursuit of Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy as the trade deadline nears, according to multiple reports.
John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports that the A’s are “very much in the hunt” for Peavy, while Dan Hayes of CSNChicago even claims that the A’s are frontrunners.
While Peavy isn’t the ace that he used to be with the San Diego Padres, he is still a quality starter, with a 7-4 record and a 4.19 ERA in 12 games this season.
The 12-year veteran has a career record of 127-97 and a ERA of 3.49. He won the National League Cy Young award with the Padres in 2007, when he won 19 games and had a 2.54 ERA.
According to Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports, the A’s are “potential suitors” for the Philadelphia Phillies’ Chase Utley. Morosi reports that Utley has spoken with Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. about a contract extension, but if that can’t be worked out, a trade is possible.
When Morosi asked Utley if he’ll remain a Phillie on August 1st, Utley offered a blunt “we’ll see.”

Seems legit so far. I picked him up for my fantasy team. Too bad he won't get many wins throwing for the Astros. Is Jarred Cosart on the Astros legit? He's put together a couple of good starts![]()

I just saw Miggy's ejection
I don't think I've ever seen anyone get ejected in the middle of an at-bat, especially over some weak shyt like that![]()
