The Baltimore Ravens released fullback Vonta Leach and inside linebacker Jameel McClain on Thursday, freeing up nearly $5 million in salary cap space.

Both had been projected as the Ravens' two most likely salary-cap casualties since the end of the season. The Ravens will save $3.2 million by cutting McClain and $1.75 million by releasing Leach, giving them a projected $27 million in cap room.

"Vonta and Jameel are two of our most important players over the last few seasons," general manager Ozzie Newsome said.

Leach thanked fans and the Ravens via Twitter.

What the 1st round looking like as far as the draft goes? Who's the rumored targets
I've seen mocks that have us taking anyone from CJ Mosley to Marquise Lee to Hageman outta Minnesota to Dennard from Mich St. I'll take any of them besides Moseley. Bama players bout to start getting that LSU treatment from me

Some mocks that i have seen have us taking the TE Ebron from UNC. Would be a nice addition since i know we are not resigning dikkson.

an Ebron/Pitta combination would be dangerous. I think it's unlikely he falls to 17 though

He may come back at a cheaper price since we got Kubiak right?
IDK....he barely got on the field much last year, and I think Kubiak might want to see more of Juice Check (younger, more versatile) at FB.

With all this cap space, hopefully this means Monroe, Pitta, and D. Smith can all be re-signed, with some left over to try to re-up the Jones boys and maybe Graham.

l was stanning Ebron at first but the more i watch i see a little dikkson in him :patrice:

i hope we go oline in the first and wait til round 2 to get weapons

we could possibly get a Matthews or Landry in round 2 and they could end up being just as good or better than the first round locks

this draft class is deep for WR's, I wanna see O-Line addressed in the first round
