You stay trying to shyt on the A's though. Chances are they woulda ended up trading Cespedes at the deadline next year, so instead, they decided to go for it all this year. They have the best record in baseball, RIGHT NOW. Who knows what next year will bring. They clearly like their chances more with Lester added to the rotation, so they move him a year early. If they fall short? Well, again, they woulda ended up moving him at the deadline next year, so it is what it is.
If I were an A's fan, I'd have ZERO problem with the move.
