Than it's business as usual for beane

People forget the As won 102 and 103 games in 2001 and 2002 with nothing to show for it with the same tactics
Yea but they gave up one player who could have been a consistent corner stone for them in Yoenis Cespedes. I just think regardless its just a bad idea. But Beane has a money about him for a reason. They guy is smart.

He has one year left in his contract. The A's are not going to pay him free agency money. Get that through your head.

Rays should've kept Price and tried to get that 2nd WC spot.

Could have traded him in the offseason and probably gotten more than what they did.

Get what through my head? :dwillhuh:

i ask a question & somehow you catch feelings? :camby:
You stay trying to shyt on the A's though. Chances are they woulda ended up trading Cespedes at the deadline next year, so instead, they decided to go for it all this year. They have the best record in baseball, RIGHT NOW. Who knows what next year will bring. They clearly like their chances more with Lester added to the rotation, so they move him a year early. If they fall short? Well, again, they woulda ended up moving him at the deadline next year, so it is what it is.

If I were an A's fan, I'd have ZERO problem with the move.

Well, you're certainly trying to shyt on 'em now. Obviously you're salty that they improved their team, but trying to act like Cespedes is a Trout/Cabrera/Stanton like cornerstone to a team is absurd.

Im not even close to shytting on them. :mjlol:

All i asked was what if the As dont win & Lester leaves? Is that shytting on them to you or me being salty? :usure:

Trout/Cabrera/Stanton are franchise changers. Yoenis isnt on their level but for the As yes he was one of thier cornerstone players. One of their better defensive outfielders & power bats plus is good on the bases.

then that's the way the cookie crumbles... btw i dont think anyone with any rational thought expects lester to stay in oakland.

i am 100% cool with this decision... in fact i commend this n*gga for trying when a lot of other GM's are too shook to do ANYTHING ie Amaro and Alderson etc.

playoffs are a crapshoot they will always be a crapshoot no changing that. but i definitely appreciate the front offcie taking a shot... when is a chance like this gonna come up again for a small market team like the a's? gotta at least try
