In the ocean where the sharks be at
i thought there was a cap on how much you could spend on international signings?
There is. Last year the Cubs overspent by 2 million on prospects. You get penalized the following year by not being allowed to spend more tha
4 of the MLB.com Top 15 :merchant:

All hitters though.....

....they've got an expendable 2B prospect now though with Alcantara that can certainly get back an arm in another trade.

But Baez, Russell, Bryant and Almora is just stupid....

Alcantra has been playing CF the last couple games. More than likely he'll be in Wrigley by September. We don't have projected TOR pitching prospects (although we do have some intriguing guys w/ CJ Edwards, Pierce Johnson, Paul Blackburn etc) in the system but Theo and Jed have shown, by trading 40% of our starting pitching rotation over the last three seasons, that they can identify starting pitching. Not worried about that right now because Theo/Jed are building a murderers row of bats:blessed:

And Bryant/Baez both hit bombs tonight:blessed:

@god shamgod We coming:birdman:

Arrieta, Hammel, Feldman, Wood(AS last year) etc Theo has already shown he knows how to find pitching. Plus we got money to spend on FA along with the farm system. Its nothin

Will see how those prospects pan out but so far the cubs have been the worst team in the NL every year theo has been there

:whoo:

not thrilled with Russell being part of a deal, but i guess it wasnt happening without him. not sure where Hammel fits in, already had 4 guys having great seasons. Chavez cant go very deep into games but hes a quality start machine. McKinney is a nice prospect but was years away, Strailey has talent but never puts it together im glad hes gone

its a 1 1/2 year stay for Jeff, he wants a 9 figure contract in 2016. pretty exciting not too many teams can claim 6 quality starters. thinking one (Hammel) gets re-dealt for 2B help

Drew Pomeranz was pitching really well, then punches a chair and basically loses his place on the team. already have 3 sick lefties in the pen theres nowhere to put him now

Dozier is still my top target @ 2b, Twins would not be interested in Hammel or Chavez they are rebuilding

the Pirates however do need vet pitching, id take Neil Walker. Pom, Hammel or Chavez whichever they prefer which would probably be Hammel

theres no way they can keep Johnson on the roster now, no more chances for him. every other pitcher on the roster has value, fukk his salary eat the 5M and dump him

The Mets are gonna give the Cubs one or two of their good young pitchers for Castro and he's gonna be completely underwhelming. bank on that
