lebryan nash better come back too. okie state bout to make a run for the final four.

as for the draft, it dont matter, cuz smart can go in the top 5 next year as well, and aint none of these 12th grade point guards seeing him.

he can kiss those #1 hopes goodbye tho.

I'm not impressed with either smart or Burke when it comes to being NBA point guards...neither are true points to me but at least smart has size.

smart was never touted as a point guard. hes a combo guard. can play either position.

Smart made the right decision. His decision making skills as a PG wasn't the best and he needs another year. If Nash comes back, OSU will be the class of the Big XII.

lazy and uninformed comparisons. Olynyk and Zeller and Dieng and Whiteside are completely different types of bigs.

And who said anything about contributing as a rookie? I'm talking about the need to have a cheap backup C. Even the guys that didn't contribute as rookies turned out to be OK later on (Splitter, Pekovic, Vucci Mane, Seraphin, Mullens)

You should be the last person wondering about this given who started half your team's games at C this year. Even something like that is something a team will take in year 1 as long as they develop later on. That's the appeal of drafting bigs late, especially when in years prior, there usually aren't many bigs to be had late because they all go early. Now there's more depth there.

Those are dead on comparisons and if you consider what those guys you named did contributions then we have 2 different definitions of the word. As far as Ezeli goes he hasn't really done anything of significance to me. He did what anybody his size and height would do in the league. He's been good for 6 fouls up to now. His numbers don't say contribution to me.

dude was a consensus top 5 pick after his freshman year :russ:

Roy crying crocodile tears has cost him millions of dollars. He might as well stay til his senior year now.

Basically. This is why you never get caught up in high school hype unless you seen the player play on multiple occasions and can gauge how his game will translate to college.

1. UNC IS THE ONLY PROGRAM IN THE NATION THAT HAS HAD MULTIPLE TOP 5 PLAYERS STAY MULTIPLE YEARS IN THE PAST DECADE.

2. UNC HAS HAD 4x MORE TOP 5 PLAYERS STAY MULTIPLE YEARS THAN ANY OTHER PROGRAM IN THE LAST DECADE.

3. ONLY 4 TOP 5 PLAYERS HAVE STAYED AT LEAST 3 YEARS IN THE LAST DECADE. UNC HAS 3 OF THOSE 4.

Yeah. If anybody says otherwise, they're lying or weren't paying attention.

Marcus Smart would've been a top-five pick this year, he'll be one next year, but he'll be a year older and a better player.

He will not be a top 5 pick next year.

Wiggins
Randle
Drew Harrison
Aaron Gordon
Noah Vonleh
Aaron Harrison

All of those guys will go ahead of him next year. That's not to count if a guy like Wayne Selden blows up next year.

You don't know that tho fam. nikkas thought coming out of high school that McAdoo and Perry Jones would be top 5 caliber players. Those guys all will probably come out but you can't say for sure that they'll have a better season than Smart next year.

Yeah I can't say that definitely so I'm wrong on that. But I think we all agree here that even if he does have a solid year he's still losing a small bit of money with this move. But who knows maybe he gets his jumper together & kills it next year.
