I think Altuve should win it over Trout regardless. His numbers are ridiculous
Trout isn't blowing anybody's season away in the AL. Altuve, Donaldson, Betts and Machado will all finish higher than him in voting.
Bryant is probably the favorite, but I think Daniel Murphy should be neck and neck with him. Putting up some crazy numbers in a much more mediocre lineup. Plus, look at what his current team is doing with him and how much the Mets have struggled without him.
They'll finish higher than him because they're on better teams smh
Hes having better seasons than all of them while doing his thing at a premier defensive position like always

Yeah I guess, so are Trouts though and hes more valuable defensively
Dude has like a .440 OBP% right now and will end up beating out Altuve in SLG% too. I mean hes having the best season in the AL pretty clearly I would think

The fact that we're discussing a Trout vs. Altuve slugging battle says everything about what Altuve's been pulling off this year
If Trout finishes September how he was in August, gonna be a damn shame seeing him miss out on another MVP
Kinda wild how he flies under the radar seemingly, if he was on a solid team he would be a lock for MVP right now IMO (and his numbers would be even better)

I wasn't talking about his size, but Altuve is not a slugger. He's 3 HR's shy of Trout, driven in more runs, hit for a much higher average, strikes out half as much, and he's on a better team which tips the scales in terms of value. When you're on an awful team like the Angels, your numbers better blow everyone out of the water to win MVP like A-Rod did and Trout hasn't done that.so Altuve gets extra points because of his size now ...

Honestly Trout it simply more valuable when you encompass every aspect of the game, I don't think it's up for debate
I was just moreso noting that him missing out on MVP was due to team record, I didnt intend of being in here trying to make an argument he should win it
but dude is pretty clearly the best player in the game and it feels like hes hardly mentioned lol
Best player, but the year he won his MVP, the Angels made the playoffs and he had quite a few career "lows" that season as well. A pennant race matters.

Trout is having the same offensive year he had last year. Kris Bryant is by far the best offensive player in The NL this year.
