I'm conflicted. The Braves claim that the City of Atlanta didn't want to pony up the $200 plus million to upgrade & renovate the stadium & surrounding areas (the area around Turner Field is the hood). The City wanted to put money up but at that same time the Falcons stadium issue was also going on and Mayor Reed put his energy into supporting that new stadium. Cobb County came through with a sweetheart deal and gave the Braves literally everything they wanted plus tax breaks. Looking back at I see why they did it...their reasoning was that they're "closer" to their "fans" :mjpls:, but I hate it, I hate they're leaving the city, even tho they're only gonna be 9 miles away from Turner Field now

In the short team they're gonna be really bad :mjcry:
Truth be told, the city valued the Atlanta United over the Braves. At the end of the day, Braves fans ( :mjpls: ) hated coming to Atlanta for the games anyway. They wanted it on their side of town.

Nah I wouldn't go that far. Since Blank owns ATL United & the Falcons it was a package deal for them with MB Stadium, the City made efforts to keep the Braves here but didn't realize that Cobb County had a substantial offer that the City just couldn't compete with

But yea I do agree with you that the reasoning for moving the Braves to Cobb is full of :mjpls: reasons
