Paxton has owned us. If we were to play Seattle, Paxton wouldn't be able to pitch till game 3 or 4 since he would be used in the WC game.

None of the AL teams have strong starters top to bottom. There's Sale and Kluber, then everybody else.

The Mariners have to hope for a WC slot.
And currently the following teams are within 1.5 games of the WC lead:

Yankees
Rays
Twins
Angels
Royals
and the Orioles

And the Rangers are 3.5 back.

In the play-in game anything is possible, but Paxton vs Archer or Severino? I'll take Archer or Severino.

Supposing the Mariners got passed that? They don't have the offense to hang with the Astros. Hell Brad Peacock might be in the bullpen by then and he'd be the Mariners #2 if he was on their staff.
