Astros took the silver boot last night and eliminating the Rangers from wildcard contention tonight.

Hernandez is helping his old team tonight against the Red Sox by ensuring that the Astros get home field advantage.

Twins pulling ahead of Indians...Keep that up!!!

Operation beat the shyt of the Rangers is a success!! I really hope Hinch doesn't play none of our starters today. No need to. I know we are 1 game behind Cleveland, but I don't trust the Rangers. They already hit a couple of our guys. No need to risk injury.

It's a cruel joke to make us go to Yankee Stadium. It's fitting though. Only Mauer was there from those teams that couldn't win. Jorge Polanco/Rosario/Buxton carrying the team offensively doesn't seem like it's sustainable in October so soon. I hope I'm wrong

That and Ervin Santana make me nervous about that one game. That said, the Yankee offense has been clicking and I got faith in Severino to do his thing.

Man, Bregman has been amazing these last couple of months. #OpperationBTSOOTR was in full effect this season. I love that he misspelled operation too . Folks thought that he was gonna be traded at the all-star break cause of his social media antics...glad that didn't happen.

David Cone bought up the Japanese League Two Wild-Card system, and I kinda like it

The Wild Cards play a 2-game series, the team with the better record gets both home games.

The home team has to win only 1 game to advance, while the road team has to win both.

That is much better than this 1-game gimmick, and I hope Manfred adopts this real soon.

The 2015 Pirates had the second best record in baseball and were gone after 1 games. The 2001 A's won 102 games, yet would've had to play an 85-win Twins club. That waters down the regular season and ruins the integrity of the game. The system is fukked.

You can't extend it, if you don't want to be in that wild card game you have to WIN your division plain and simple. You want to call it overly simplistic, fine, but I call it you should've won more games during the regular season... making the regular season not watered down. This is coming from a Mets fan who's team got shut out last year against the Giants.

If they ever make it similar to the Japanese format, or even best 2 out of 3, you're then hurting the teams that actually won more games by having them sit out for another day or two.
