My Pops Forever RIP
Jose Fernandez's daughter born on Friday

Jose Fernandez's daughter was born on Friday, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

Fernandez's girlfriend, Maria Arias, gave birth to a baby girl named Penelope. The name was picked out shortly after the couple discovered the baby's sex.

Fernandez died a month later in a tragic boating accident. He was 24 years old.

At Fernandez's funeral, his agent Scott Boras mentioned the young pitcher's excitement to become a father.

"He wanted to know, am I going to be a good father?” Boras said during the eulogy, according to the Herald. “And I told him, you’re going to be a great father because you’re going to treat your child in the same way that your mother treated you and you’ll know exactly what to do," he said. "The next day he ordered a baseball glove in all those colors he loved and he put ‘Penelope’ on it."

The height and weight of the baby have not been made public yet.

My tribe went to game 7 of the WS and took it to extra innings. So they follow that up by adding enarnacion and getting back 3rd place for MVP brantley, all star salazar, starting catcher gomes,#2 starter carrasco from injuries:blessed: And we got Miller for a full season to pair with young stars like kluber,Lindor, kipnis, allen, and ramirez:ahh:
If Michael Brantley returns to his 2014-2015 form, that's a big plus for Cleveland.

I'll tell you though...Terry Francona does not get enough credit. I always respected him when he managed in Boston. But he did inherit a tremendous roster there.
But he's proven his worth in Cleveland. He's arguably the best manager in baseball right now.

I just hope his health issues doesn't force him to retire soon:wow:

Tigers gonna win it all for Illitch

70 win season coming up :mjcry:
Detroit has had a timing problem.
Guys either didn't get good at the right time, or were hurt.

It took Castellanos a while to get going.
Victor Martinez was hurt.
By the time Porcello put things together he was traded.
Andrew Miller never did live up to his promise in Detroit (though to be fair, he's part of what gave you Miggy)
