If Samardzija puts up these numbers next year, with a bit better luck, he's an 18+ game winner.

I've watched every start, he's very hitable because he throws the ball over the plate with no location. His low walk rate is totally misleading. His era is very real, he gets hard as fuk

Anybody can have him for a couple of young hitters, that's what the Giants need

His hard hit rate is 28.5%.

Among starters with 100 IP this year it's 15th best in all of baseball.

He's had some bad luck with a tinge higher line drive rate and a big surge in his HR rate...but that alone wouldn't suggest he's a bad pitcher.

Even normalizing pitching metrics like SIERA and xFIP have his numbers among the best in the league.

Look at Scherzer early in his career

People have no patience anymore. If a guy isn't tearing the league up right away he's garbage

Most guys need close to 1000 at bats to even tell if they are going to be a bust or not. 50 - 100 isn't a good sample size to base players off of.

Jose Altuve has 139 hits through 100 games for the Astros (he's played 97).

In 2004, when Ichiro set the all time season hits record of 262, he had 148 hits through 100 games for the Mariners (he had played in 99 games).
