The Angels are going all-in...about 3 years too late.
I can appreciate them making a wild card push, but they don't have enough to compete on any level with the Astros or Indians...or even the Yankees.
And yes Upton is a quality bat. But he and Phillips just aren't enough.
...on top of that, forget about any hope for Alex Meyer to rejoin the rotation. LA just put him on the 60 day DL today.

You've been shouting from the roof tops that dealing prospects isn't a big deal. In the NL, Verlander is definitely an ace (he is in the AL too, but his value is higher in the NL) and worth the prospects. If the Cubs had him heading into the postseason, they would terrify everyone.I have no issues with taking on the contract, but adding any meaningful prospects
