I'm happy it's opening day but it shouldnt be on a Thursday with a bunch of teams off Friday. I understand wanting to take advantage of a first weekend but it's cold as shyt still throughout 80% of the country and the Twins home opener might be 25 degrees next week. I know they always deal with shyt weather in April, but this seems unnecessary

They do it in case the weather postpones the first game (except for domed stadiums)

I know why. I just liked the Monday start date. Usually it would be after Wrestlemania Sunday too so it would be a nice long weekend.
