I guess you didn't see Adam Lambert at the AMAs in 2009.
Look it up if you dare.
My wife was watching while I was doing some work on my laptop. I overheard them saying shyt like Black awards and our show or something similar. I was like this shyt ain't no black show![]()

We're still letting Viacom (and other corporate entities) pigeonhole what black entertainment is?
NAACP awards was respectful and done right and no one cared. Award shows are dead that’s all. You used to see celebrities a couple times a year if that and you had to pay to see them live so it was a huge deal. Now celebs are willing to entertain us for free of charge everyday
I listen to Migos, Moneybagg, Lil Baby, etc but some of these cats stage presence is just off, even with some of the female acts, they not putting on a show like a Beyoncé would back in the day ya know? Maybe I’m just getting old
The theme of the show was Year of the Black Woman![]()
I'm saying that it's always the same argument when it comes to the mainstream rap game. Get past the mainstream and you get all that you said now.And so? This is the stupidest argument. Rap became more lyrically complex on average in the 90s compared to the 80s, they were more lanes in the 90s compared to the 80s. Logical arguments would show it became more expansive, complex, and layered. Now it is becoming more simple, uncouth, and made for lowest common denominator. I won't waste my time tho
Those who do that are getting older and don't care the way they used to. We can be mad at those who performed but those acts are popular. It is what it is.That's not washed, that just being uninterested or finding a better use of your time
People do the same for the Oscars...Best Picture/Actor, etc
Even sports, just watching the highlights
