The name of the game in hip hop has always been who makes great music. If you're saying some incredible shyt on top of that e.g. Rakim, Nas, Jay-Z, etc, then you're goat tier. But all those dudes made good music FIRST. They weren't wack as fukk in the production/vocal/charisma dept then make up some dumb shyt about "if we talking bars, we the hottest."

The "new dudes with bars" are the absolute worst. Talentless and absolutely wack as fukk. And their bars are trash as fukk on top of that

Battle rappers/freestylers
Can rap their ass off, but can’t make a good enough song to keep them relevant.

Also...you mentioned bars...don’t forget about their ear for beats. Beat selection is just as important as vocals.

Totally agree. and the thing these lyricism are scared to admit: just about anyone can rap their ass off if they spend a week or two copying Youtube radio freestyles. You too can be Kool G Rap ripoff #82600.

But few in comparison can make good music. and even fewer can make great music. That takes vision, talent and skill. Something that a lot of people simply don't have.
