The 3 albums that put Atlanta Hip Hop on the map all came out in 1992.

Kinda yeah, they all were big chart topping albums

But I think albums that repped Atlanta (Goodie Mobb, Outkast first few joints) and then the actual sound (All those crunk and trap albums from the early to mid 00s) probably did more to put to Atlanta on the map by actually showcasing the actual sound and descripton of the city

But I wouldnt dismiss these albums

It's hard to argue against 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of... as one of those albums. But I'd argue it did more for the South than it did specifically for Atlanta.

ATL to MEM
man i miss that early 90s aesthetic :mjcry: shyt was so colorful and fun

I was talking to my wife about that the other day. Fun is gone from our music. shyt is all negativity and hyper sexuality.

One thing I will disagree about this topic is that Arrested Development may be from Atlanta but they are not seen as an Atlanta group. Keeping it 100, people thought they were from Tennessee for obvious reasons. That’s a southern group, not an Atlanta group.

Also even though Outkast came later, that is when people were thinking “ok I need to see what’s going on down there”.
