But its true. He's absolutely right. Ive heard about this for years. When Bill Russel, Wilt, Big O and them came into the league and started stuntin on all these 5'11 white dudes, they then added the 3 pt shot to even the odds and give the less gifted players a chance to make an impact...

A lot of old time basketball purists believe that the 3 pt shot actually ruined the game. The original point of basketball was to find the highest % shot and take it. The highests % shot was meant to be as close to the basket as possible. The philosophy against the 3 pointer was that you shouldnt be rewarding players for taking lower % shots. A shot from down town should be a high risk low reward decision, and teams should be encouraged to find a better shot instead.

When it was first introduced some people feared that the game would one day evolve to the point where the 3 pt shot became the primary option for most offenses, which would effectively kill basketball and turn it into a wacky 3 pt contest.
